ERBIL, March 21, 2018 – Pearl Petroleum has struck a 10-year gas sales deal with the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), consortium partner Dana Gas announced on Wednesday.
The agreement covers a planned 25% production increase at the Khor Mor field, or about 2.27 mcm (80 mcf) of sales gas per day, scheduled to become available later this year, the press release added.
“The Kurdistan Region of Iraq holds potentially more than 200 tcf [5.66 tcm] of gas and the KRG is committed to playing a positive role in the growing gas and electricity needs of Iraq and the region,” said Ashti Hawrami, the KRG’s minister of natural resources. “We are pleased to see the further commitment of expansion and investment by the companies and the anticipated growth in gas supplies will make a positive contribution to the growing domestic needs for more electricity.”
